The bold structure of the trees contrasts with the soft movement of the water, giving the piece both strength and serenity. There’s life in it—and a kind of quiet groundedness too. It took its time to come together (okay, fought me a little), but in the end, it surprised me. The stillness it holds feels hard-earned.
